Livorno - The Harbourmaster’s Office of Livorno has authorized the entry of the “MSC Adelaide” into port, a 300m long and 48m wide container carrier with a capacity of almost 9,000 TEU.

This is the sixth MSC ship that the port of Livorno has received (after “Judith”, “Vita”, “Meline”, “Agadir” and “Azov”) which has come to dock under conditions that were permitted by the Maritime Authority as an exception. Good weather conditions - only seven knots of wind - made it possible for the ship to enter the port.

With two pilots to direct on-board control of the manoeuvre, the cargo ship crossed the critical point in the access canal to the Toscana wharf accompanied by three port tugboats, and moored around 9:30 AM at Lorenzini Terminal berth 15B.
