Genoa - Amico&Co shipyard in Genoa has obtained Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status, granted by the Italian Central Customs Agency, the first shipyard in Italy and one of the first shipyards in the megayacht refit sector to do so. AEO status is an internationally recognised quality mark, indicating that a company has a safe and trustworthy role in the international supply chain and that its customs controls and procedures are efficient and compliant, assuring the security of data and goods. Amico&Co clients can thus rest assured that they are in the best of hands as regards customs simplification, security and safety.

What is AEO certification

The international symbol AEO certifies that a company’s role is secure, regarding tax and customs compliance and that therefore its working procedures and checks comply with European Union customs regulations. Amico&Co has been classified as an AEOF or Authorized Economic Operator – Full, which includes both AEOC & AEOS certification. Specifically regarding customs simplification, AEOC status is issued to businesses that fulfil specific criteria of having good tax and customs compliance history, good commercial and transport recordkeeping standards, financial solvency and professional qualifications, demonstrating that they possess practical standards of competence in the activity they’re involved in. AEOS status regards security and safety and indicates a business which dedicated particular attention to having appropriate security and safety measures.
