Botta: “Genoa, a tragedy difficult to explain”

Genoa - “A group of Chinese people asked me: “If that bridge is so important for the country, why not rebuild it in one or two months?”. What can we answer this question?.”

Genoa - Explaining the tragedy of the Morandi bridge to the world is not easy. Giampaolo Botta, general manager of Spediporto (association of Genoese forwarders), told the audience of the second technical conference organized in Genoa by Siat Assicurazioni. “At the last Fiata congress in India, all world operators were aware of the Morandi disaster. What Italians have been difficult to explain is the lack of information on reconstruction. A group of Chinese people asked me: “If that bridge is so important for the country, why not rebuild it in one or two months?”. What can we answer this question?.”

Botta also thanked the truck drivers for the dignity with which they are facing the Genoese discomforts. “They are the ones paying the highest price. If we do not hear them scream their anger is only out of respect for the city.”
