Genova - New flight from Genoa airport. The low cost airline Ernest Airlines presented, yesterday, the direct connection with Kiev. The carrier has also announced a new route - always from “Cristoforo Colombo” - to Tirana which is added to the connection already operated by Blue-Express. From 16 March the direct flight from Genoa to Kiev will start. The connection will be operated every Tuesday and Saturday. Starting from 2 April, on the other hand, the two-weekly Genoa-Tirana link will start, operated every Tuesday and Saturday, with the additional frequency of Thursday from 20 June to 19 September. Tickets from around 40 euros each way, including taxes. With these two new routes, 39 Italian and foreign airports go up, connected by direct scheduled flights to the Genoa airport. “This increases the chances of success for the program of territorial marketing initiatives - said the general secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, Maurizio Caviglia - that we are pursuing with the Region and the Municipality”. Meanwhile on the union front, the Filt-CGIL Genoa and Liguria - after the state of agitation proclaimed by airport employees at the beginning of last month - has announced that it considers “extremely serious the exclusion of the CGIL secretary” in the recipients of a letter sent last January 23 by the company to workers’ representatives. Addressing the top of the airport and emphasizing the need for new hires, the CGIL recalls that it is “the union with more members in your company, perhaps for this and for our positions that we are uncomfortable”.
