Genoa - The Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, will also be at the arrival of the Concordia in Genoa. Paolo D’Attilio, the vice prefect in charge, confirmed it after a summit.
“Renzi, as President of the Council, will be present at the docks at VTE when the Concordia finishes its docking manoeuvres. The arrival is expected in the afternoon,” D’Attilio explained.
The Prefecture is planning the details of the Prime minister’s visit. “Tomorrow afternoon,” D’Attilio added, “the ceremonial party of the Council Presidency will arrive in Genoa to visit some places, to establish the latest protocols and to identify the point at which the President will be able to meet journalists and see the Concordia itself. The prefect in charge then explained the role of the prefecture during the arrival of the wreck. “Since the Prefecture in Grosseto was responsible for the wreck’s departure, it is now the turn of Genoa’s Prefecture,” D’Attilio concluded, “who are responsible for the ship’s arrival.”
