Genova - The Genoese group De Wave lands in Finland and announces the acquisition of FCR Finland. The company thus broadens its borders, focusing on the North European and Scandinavian shipbuilding market, with particular reference to the repair of large cruise ships. Fcr Finland is one of the main operators in the sector in Northern Europe and in Turku it boasts loyal relationships with the large companies in the cruise sector. In fact, the Finnish group has been operating in this market for over a decade, in particular in the construction of public areas and cabins on large passenger and cruise ships. With a workforce of about fifty highly specialized employees and a turnover of 28 million euros, Fcr is destined, through its management to which De Wave has reiterated full confidence, to further strengthen its strategic positioning.

For De Wave, the acquisition defined in these days provides further confirmation of a growth strategy also for external lines, focused on entering reference areas in the field of shipbuilding, both as regards new buildings and as regards refitting. A few days ago the company led by Riccardo Pompili acquired Tecnavi, a very strong Genoese company in the naval plant engineering segment: "Our acquisition plan is proceeding at full speed and is destined for a further step forward. It is the market that requires increasingly global profiles in order to be able to successfully face the challenges of the future - explains Pompili -. This operation strengthens our international position, allows us a strong alliance with one of the main players in Northern Europe and guarantees us to be able to look at new and further operations from a point of even greater strength ”. With this further development, the Genoese group has the option of achieving a total turnover of 300 million euros this year, a clear increase compared to that recorded in 2021 of approximately 210 million. The result of the aggregation of three historic naval furniture brands (De Wave, Precetti group and Spencer Contract), the group is now fully controlled by the US investment fund Platinum Equity.
