Genoa - According to Ucina’s new president, Carla Demaria, the next Genoa Boat Show will signal its resurgence. The head of Montecarlo Yacht, was elected to lead the Confindustria nautica following the exit from the association of some big brand names such as Azimut/Benetti and Ferretti. During the press conference held in Genoa yesterday, Ms. Demari stated that the boating event, “is at no risk whatsoever,” and added that in 2015, although the Ferreti Group won’t be present, the event can count on Azimut, “which this year it will be at the Salone di Genoa.” An important return to the fold, for what still remains one of the most important european boat shows.
But there is still one question mark; the Vitelli family, in fact, owners of this major boat builder, have communicated to the MediTelegraph that for next Genoa Boat Show, “they will consider the participation of their italian distributors if they deem it appropriate.” Whatever the case the 55th Edition of the Boat Show will begin on 30th September and end on 5th October. The event will be organized by the company “I Saloni Nautici”, which is totally owned by Ucina. Some highlights of the next edition will be the presence of the team and the boats from the Volvo Ocean Race. Regarding the possibility of State financing for the Show, repeatedly called into question due to internal divisions within the association, which belongs to Confindustria, Ms. Demaria stressed her willingness to meet with Carlo Calenda, Deputy Minister for Development.
