Marina di Carrara - The new MDC terminal in Marina di Carrara starts up with the arrival of two 350-tonne carrying capacity cranes. “It is the beginning of a new era at the port,” said the chairman of the Port System Authority of the Eastern Ligurian Sea, Carla Roncallo: “An agreement for the resolution of employment problems has been signed, and yesterday the ship carrying the equipment for the new terminal arrived at the port. The cranes will take up position on the Chiesa and Taliercio docks.” The port authority put out a tender that was won by Dario Perioli. The two cranes were unloaded today from a Dutch-flagged vessel that picked up the two structures in Antwerp, Belgium, and Marin, Spain. The new terminal operator’s management was present for the operation.
