“We'll spend all the Nrrp funds”, says the Italian Minister Matteo Salvini

Rome – Deputy Premier and Transport and Infrastructure Minister Matteo Salvini on Monday dismissed talk of Italy foregoing any of the funding it has been allocated by the EU for the NRRP because it is unable to spend the money properly within the set time frame.

"The government's aim is to spend all the NRRP funds and spend them well, especially those regarding infrastructure, because we have an infrastructure gap with other European countries that we must close," League leader Salvini said at Adriatic Sea Summit event in Trieste.

"So returning funds or failing to spend funds is absolutely not on the agenda. "At most, some things may be reshaped".
