There’s no lack of infrastructure in Italy. Some argue that there is actually too much. The problem lies in their interconnection, what is your take on the issue?
“I totally agree, there are already too many operational infrastructure projects and plans for more to come. It is not clear if the investments, those already made and those that will follow, are seen just as real estate deals or as having true potential for logistics services, as, already, many are struggling due to the lack of rail, air and sea connections.”
What positive developments regarding port infrastructure can we expect arising from the reform of Law 84/1994?
“The new law mentions port systems, but according to my reading we’re moving towards a specialization of port services, with solid work planning, specificity of tasks and better practices in port areas, which will all bring more profitability for operators and an increase in traffic flows, which will converge in Italy’s ports, not just better structured, but with better organization of all its services.”
