Eni: “Qatar crisis affects gas not oil”
Bologna - “The current tensions over Qatar have not had many effects, because the country is more a gas than an oil producer and so I think that in the end reason will win out and therefore it will be possible to find dialogue. I am convinced of it, because the role of Qatar is too important.”
Bologna - “The current tensions over Qatar have not had many effects, because the country is more a gas than an oil producer and so I think that in the end reason will win out and therefore it will be possible to find dialogue. I am convinced of it, because the role of Qatar is too important.”
This is what ENI’s C.E.O., Claudio Descalzi, said in an interview at the G7 Environmental meeting in Bologna. For Descalzi, the Qatar crisis “has a much greater impact on gas than on oil. And the data speaks for itself. We were at $53-54 and now we are at $48. I believe that in the future these tensions will be resolved in a reasonable manner. They were friends and have always worked together. They have a common history. And when there is a common history, it’s unlikely that extreme consequences will ensue.”
