Copenaghen - The Danish group DFDS, which operates freight and passenger transport services with a fleet of ferries and logistics services, announced its intention to cut 650 jobs due to the impact on the activities of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company, which employs approximately 8,600 people overall, explained that the reduction is aimed at adapting activities to the new market conditions and specified that 200 jobs will be cut in Denmark and others abroad.

The DFDS reorganization plan, which will result in one-off charges of around 100 million Danish krones (€ 13 million), will result in annual savings of up to 250 million Danish krones. The plan includes, inter alia, the amalgamation of commercial activities relating to ferries and those relating to logistics services which will be brought together under the Logistics division.
