Hapag Lloyd sees 2025 Ebitda at 2.5-4.0 billion dollars vs 5.029 billion in 2024
Transport volumes in 2025 are expected to increase, while freight rates are expected to decrease moderately

German shipping and container company Hapag Lloyd said its expects its 2025 EBITDA to slump to 2.5-4.0 billion dollars, reflecting the fragile economic and geopolitical environment. Group EBIT is seen in the range of 0.0-1.5 billion dollars. In 2024, it was 2.788 billion dollars compared to 2.735 billion in 2023. In 2024, EBITDA rose to 5.029 billion dollars from 4.8 billion in 2023 as transport volume rose to 12.5 million TEU from 11.9 million TEU and revenue increased to 20.7 billion dollars from 19.4 billion.
Transport volumes in 2025 are expected to "increase clearly driven by expanded vessel capacity and the new Gemini Cooperation, while freight rates are expected to decrease moderately from the 1,493 dollar per TEU seen in 2024. The company announced a dividend proposal of 8.20 euros per share, down from 9.25 euros in 2023.
