Rome - The Italian three-masted training vessel ‘Palinuro’, an iron-hulled barquentine, is crossing the Corinth Canal, Peloponnese, in Greece.

The Palinuro is active as sails trainings vessel for the Italian Navy. It was bought in 1951 by the Italian Navy as a replacement for the Cristoforo Colombo. The Palinuro is named after Palinurus the famous helmsman of Aeneas’s ship.
