Genoa - The results of the semi-annual market survey that reports provisional data for 2015 and the 2015/2016 nautical trend data, prepared by the association, were released to UCINA, the leisure boat industry business association’s members. “On the basis of sales and orders received by businesses in the first half of this nautical year (September 2015 - August 2016), we can confirm a positive trend for the boating industry in Italy, with an expected growth of between 5% and 10%. Despite a slowdown in the market in early 2016, “ said the president of UCINA Confindustria Nautica, Carla Demaria, “Spring has begun with good prospects.” The year 2015 saw an improvement over forecasts made during the Genoa Boat Show, with a 12% increase in global turnover for the boating industry compared to 2014. A closer look at individual sectors reveals that shipbuilding grew by over 13% .”
Positive results, as well, in the engine industry (+ 13%), and in the accessories and components sector (+ 7%). Regarding the shipbuilding sector, the domestic market registered an increase of 35% in leasing contracts in the two months after the Genoa Boat Show. As for results during the first two months of 2016 (based on data by Assilea - Italian Leasing Association), a 135% increase was recorded in the number of contracts.
