(afp)In addition to the recently enhanced core intermodal barge service Fos - Lyon, Cma Cgm is further supporting the modal shift and addressing the high demand for rail services connecting Marseille to Lyon and the Rhône-Alpes Region.
This initiative emphasizes increased frequency, cost competitiveness and enhanced overall efficiency and offers high service frequency with 5 train departures per week in both directions for export and import; strong connectivity with the 8 core services on key trade routes including Naf, West Med, East Med, West Indies; environmental benefits with rail transport reduced Co2 emission by 75% compared to road transport; short intermodal transit time of 2 days for Export Lyon > Marseilles and 3 days for Import; optimized export transit time Lyon to Tunis in 5 days, Casablanca 7 days, Alger 12 days, Pointe-à-Pitre 19 days; import transit time to Lyon from Ambarli 15 days, Genoa 5 days, Barcelona 4 days and Malta 9 days.
