Costa Cruises presents Winter 2026/27: Costa Smeralda debuts in the Canary Islands, Costa Pacifica in the Mediterranean

Major new developments for the upcoming winter: from the timeless classics of the Mediterranean and the Caribbean to the debut of Costa Smeralda in the Canary Islands, with a brand new 8-day itinerary between the Spanish archipelago and Madeira

– The Winter 2026/27 season of Costa Cruises opens with a refreshed offering that highlights iconic destinations and natural scenery of extraordinary beauty, enriched by two major new developments: the debut of Costa Smeralda in the Canary Islands, and the repositioning of Costa Pacifica in the Western Mediterranean, where it will offer both weekly cruises and longer itineraries through Southern Europe and North Africa.

The Canary Islands take center stage this winter: an archipelago of eternal spring with spectacular landscapes ranging from dramatic volcanic scenery to vast dunes sculpted by nature. Against this backdrop, Costa Smeralda, the flagship of the fleet, will sail an itinerary exploring islands with magnetic beauty: the sculptural, fire forged landscapes of Lanzarote, the endless light and wind carved dunes of Fuerteventura, the soaring presence of Mount Teide over Tenerife, and the many shades of Gran Canaria. Madeira adds an exotic note with its lush mountains and dramatic ocean viewpoints. For the first time, the itinerary includes an overnight call in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, inviting guests to enjoy the city’s markets, Atlantic lights and vibrant evenings.

Navigation becomes an integral part of the journey thanks to the Sea Destinations — unique spots at sea brought to life through immersive experiences designed by the Italian creative director Luca Tommassini. His artistic direction creates atmospheres, narratives and scenography that amplify the magic of the exact place where the ship is positioned. Among them: Canary Sea Darkest Spot, where the ship reaches the darkest point of the Canary Islands to immerse guests in a true “sea of stars”, and Atlantis Crest, where the ship approaches an underwater mountain that may lie at the origin of the myth of Atlantis. Here, legend comes to life through evocative sets, deep sounds, and immersive atmospheres.

Costa Pacifica will accompany guests through the cultural capitals of Southern Europe and the gateways to Africa, uncovering a more unexpected Mediterranean. Weekly cruises include some of the most historic and identity rich cities — Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Naples and Palermo — along with Tunis (La Goulette), where the Medina, souks and the archaeological sites of Carthage and Sidi Bou Said offer captivating oriental atmospheres.
The longer itineraries go deeper into the warmth of the South, calling at Málaga, between Andalusian art and tradition, Tangier, with its mosaic lined alleyways and mint scented Medina, and again Tunis, gateway to the treasures of Carthage and the enchanting souks.

The Mediterranean remains one of the most popular destinations even in winter, thanks to its mild climate, rich cultural heritage, and landscapes that reveal an intimate and authentic beauty. Costa Toscana offers an itinerary through Italy, France and Spain — enhanced by the radiant Palma de Mallorca — for an experience that blends art cities, local traditions and strong natural identities. From March 2027, a breathtaking Sea Destination — always a Costa exclusive — will return to the itinerary. The Balearic Sea Darkest Spot offers the rare opportunity to observe the night sky from one of the darkest, most untouched stretches of the Mediterranean, reached only when the ship crosses this unique point at sea.

For those dreaming of tropical warmth in the heart of winter, the Caribbean return as protagonists with Costa Fascinosa and Costa Favolosa, each offering different itineraries among the Greater and Lesser Antilles — all white sands, turquoise waters, lush forests, creole markets and postcard perfect seabeds. The formula is “fly&cruise”, with embarkations from La Romana (Dominican Republic) for Costa Fascinosa, and Santo Domingo, Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) or Fort-de-France (Martinique) for Costa Favolosa.

Costa Fascinosa alternates between two proposals:

The first includes Barbados, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Pointe-à-Pitre and Tortola, enriched by two spectacular Sea Destinations: the Caribbean Sea Darkest Spot, where the ship reaches the darkest point of the Caribbean Sea and the sky becomes a tapestry of stars, and the Guadeloupe Bay, where its iconic moon comes alive through an engaging show, reflecting on the crystal-clear water and enveloping the bay in a captivating glow.

The second explores the Dominican Republic in depth, calling at Cabo Rojo — a true “destination within a destination”, with a port designed specifically for cruise guests and surrounded by landscapes of jungle, desert, turquoise waters and ancient quarries — as well as Arroyo Barril and Catalina Island, the latter featured both on land and at sea through the Sea Destination Catalina Bay, at the most iconic point along the historic corsair routes, where at sunset the bay comes alive with a tropical energy that recalls its legendary atmosphere. Completing the experience is the enchantment of the Archipelago Turks & Caicos sea destination, where the Caribbean sunset ignites crystal-clear waters, intense colors and a tropical soundscape that turns the voyage into a vibrant, unforgettable moment.

Costa Favolosa, meanwhile, proposes itineraries touching six islands in a single cruise, including the British Virgin Islands and Antigua/Sint Maarten, and two beloved Sea Destinations: Sea of Antilles Darkest Spot, where the celestial dome appears at its brightest, and Martinique Bay, which lights up under the moon with a celebration inspired by the Martinique Carnival — colorful costumes, percussion, and an immersive DJ set that turns the bay into a tribute to Caribbean spirit.

Looking at Autumn, Costa enriches the season with some of the most anticipated and captivating proposals of late 2026. Among them, a full immersion in Japan on Costa Serena: eleven days discovering Tokyo, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Nagasaki, Kochi, Kagoshima and Hakodate, with a single international call in Busan. The voyage is enhanced by a spectacular Sea Destination, inspired by the country’s timeless charm: the ship positions itself in an iconic bay, with the silhouette of Mount Sakurajima on the horizon, to experience a moment where landscapes, silences and atmosphere blend seamlessly, allowing guests to admire nature from a privileged perspective and feel enveloped by the symbolic power of one of Japan’s most evocative places.

Finally, only with Costa are guests able to choose from two extraordinary World Cruises departing in 2026: the first aboard Costa Serena, with a 66-day itinerary across Asia, Oceania and South America — from remote islands to iconic cities and horizons that shift continuously; and the second aboard Costa Deliziosa, a 139-day journey featuring an equally remarkable route, filled with new discoveries such as a day on the private island of Half Moon Cay (Bahamas) — for the first time, exclusively for Costa guests — plus East and West Coast U.S. cities, Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Southeast Asia and Africa.

Bookings for the Winter 2026–2027 cruises are available at all travel agencies and on the official Costa Cruises website www.costacrociere.it.
