Logistics firms, revenues increase

Genova - The ASTRE Group, a network of European associations of road hauliers and logistics, concluded 2016 with €2.7 billion in overall turnover, a record figure. In the past three years, the group has experienced increases of €300 million, a growth which is also reflected in the increase in the total number of employees employed by its member companies, which grew from 14,500 to over 20,000 in 2016.

Nearly 10% of the ASTRE Group aggregate turnover was generated last year by companies registered with ASTRE Italy, which, following the trend in overall figures, rose in 2016 to €242 million. There are 19 members of ASTRE in Italy, employing 1,100 workers.

The footprint of associated facilities based in Italy ranks 29th, occupying an area of over 530,000 sqm, 204,000 sqm of which are covered warehouses for logistics activities, with a total of 2,600 registrations.
