LNG storage facility in Livorno
Livorno LNG Terminal S.p.A. has been created. It will proceed with the construction of a small scale coastal depot of about 9,000 cubic meters inside the Port of Livorno
Livorno - Livorno LNG Terminal S.p.A. has been created. The company is jointly owned by Costiero Gas Livorno S.p.A., which is in turn a joint venture between Enifuel S.p.A., Liquigas S.p.A. and Neri Vulcangas Investimenti S.r.l., which is itself a joint venture between Neri Depositi Costieri S.p.A. and Società Italiana Gas Liquidi S.p.A.. Four large and important Italian companies, operating in the field of LPG distribution and marketing and port logistics for petrochemical products, have joined forces to start a major investment in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) distribution sector.
In fact, Livorno LNG Terminal S.p.A., will proceed with the construction of a small scale coastal depot of about 9,000 cubic meters inside the Port of Livorno, the first phase of which will be for 4,500 cubic metres, to allow the reception and storage of LNG, supplied by LNG tankers, for its subsequent distribution by tankers and small vessels (bunker barges), for the refuelling of road service stations and vessels in transit at the port of Livorno. The new facility, which will be built at a strategic position in the Port of Livorno, may also create important synergies with other similar facilities in the area.
