Reggio Calabria - Calabria has become a new cruise destination thanks to Costa Cruises. Starting in September this year and throughout 2015 the Italian cruise company will be porting 18 times with 3 ships in Reggio Calabria, Crotone and Corigliano Calabro.
More specifically, the Costa neoRomantica (56,000 gross tonnage and 789 cabins) and Costa neoRiviera (48,200 gross tonnage and 624 cabins) will make a total of nine calls at Reggio Calabria, while the Costa neoClassica (53.000 gross tonnage and 654 cabins) will make five stopovers in Crotone and four in Corigliano Calabro.
The news was announced today in Reggio Calabria at a media event attended by Giuseppe Scopelliti, President of the Calabrian Regional Administration and Costa Crociere Sales & Marketing Director Italy Carlo Schiavon.
All three Costa ships operating in Calabria will be offering the exclusive Costa neoCollection; this innovative product, launched this year by Costa Cruises, is a new more leisurely way of cruising with greater flexibility, more time to spend and smaller ships sailing to new destinations, off the beaten path.
For 65 years the ships of Costa Cruises have plied the seas of the world, offering the best in Italian style, hospitality and cuisine and providing dream holidays with the utmost in terms of fun and relaxation.
Its fleet, the largest in Europe, has a total of 14 ships in service, flying the Italian flag, and 1 new ship to be delivered in October 2014. Costa Cruises has been certified by RINA (Italian Shipping Register) with the BEST4, an integrated system of voluntary certification for social accountability (SA 8000, issued in 2008), environment (UNI EN ISO 14001, 2004), safety (OHSAS 18001, 2007) and quality (UNI EN ISO 9001, 2008).
All the ships in the Costa fleet have been assigned RINA’s Green Star notation certifying that they are operated in compliance with the highest environmental protection standards.
