Genoa - From December 18, 2014, after a major restyling, Costa Classica (53,000 gross tonnage and 654 cabins) will join Costa neoCollection as Costa neoClassica and, together with Costa neoRomantica and Costa neoRiviera, will offer some of the most stunning Costa neoCollection itineraries, the “slow” cruise style, on smaller ships, offering cruises to unique destinations, with great natural scenery and superb cultural attractions, including some that have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Costa Cruises has invested around 22.5 million euro in the ship’s renovation, that took place at San Giorgio del Porto yards in Genoa, one of the international leaders for ship repairs and refitting, from November 8, involving about 600 technicians and 400 crew members. Operations included both the hull & engine section and the hotel Section. As far as concerns the former, the biggest jobs are the cleaning and repainting of the hull.
