Grimaldi enhances their lines with the Islands
Naples - The Grimaldi Group has announced an enhancement of their maritime passenger and freight services to and from Sicily and Sardinia. From next Monday, the current Cagliari ro-ro connection will be extended to four times a week between the ports of Genoa, Livorno and Palermo
Naples - The Grimaldi Group has announced an enhancement of their maritime passenger and freight services to and from Sicily and Sardinia. From next Monday, the current Cagliari ro-ro connection will be extended to four times a week between the ports of Genoa, Livorno and Palermo. The service will offer a transit time of 17 hours from Genoa and 16 hours from Livorno to the Sardinian capital Cagliari, with departures from Genoa every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from Livorno every Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. Departures from Cagliari to Genoa and Livorno will take place every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The service will be operated with two ro-ro ships, “Eurocargo Savona” and “Eurocargo Alexandria”, each with a load capacity of 250 rolling stock units and 450 cars. Starting next Tuesday, the ro-ro line between Livorno and Palermo, currently operated by the Grimaldi group four times a week from both ports, will be further enhanced with the addition of the “Europalink” ferry, which has a load capacity of 4,320 linear metres of rolling freight (trailers, vans, cars, etc...) and 1,000 passengers, with several cabin places for drivers, enabling reception on board of all accompanied trucks.
