Cagliari - As of 1 April, Delcomar will replace Saremar on the maritime links between Sardinia and La Maddalena and Carloforte Islands. The company owned by Franco Del Giudice was definitively awarded the contract by the Region of Sardinia. In order to allow the change to begin as soon as 31 March, which is when the liquidated company Saremar’s extension expires, the Regional Councillorship for Transportation will adopt an advance execution decree for services to the minor islands.

That is what emerged from the meeting between Councillors Massimo Deiana (Transportation) and Virginia Mura (Labour) and the unions, during which the details of the application of the social provision for Saremar’s former employees was settled. Of the 146 workers hired by the regional shipping company which is now in liquidation, 22 meet the requirements for pensions, 100 will be absorbed by Delcomar and 24 by BluNavy SarNav, which will operate on the Santa Teresa di Gallura-Bonifacio route without [public] service obligations. Calls are already being made on the La Maddalena-Palau route and tomorrow placement will begin on the links to Carloforte and between Sardinia and Corsica.
