Genoa - Costa Cruises’ flagship KLM flight from Amsterdam to Genoa began on Friday, 22 April at the Cristoforo Colombo Airport in Genoa. The Italian Company will use the daily KL1564 flights, from Genoa to Amsterdam, and KL1563, from Amsterdam to Genoa, to transport not only its Dutch cruise guests, but thanks to connections with other airports, also Belgian and northern European cruise travellers, who are travelling onboard the flagship Costa Diadema and Costa Fascinosa. These ships depart every week from Savona on seven day itineraries to the most beautiful destinations in the western Mediterranean Sea. The proposed formula is the “flight/cruise” package that Costa first introduced to the world back in 1968.
“We are very pleased to work with an excellent partner such as the Air France KLM group. We have focused on these new flights because they represent a good opportunity for us, allowing our Dutch guests to reach our ships with a comfortable and high quality service. Costa Cruises also confirms its leading role in the economy of Genoa, the city where it has been headquartered for 68 years, and its surrounding region. Thanks to these flights, we will further expand our contribution to the growth of tourist flows in Liguria, where in 2015 the presence of our ships generated a traffic of 1.2 million cruise passengers, 60% of which came from abroad,” said Norbert Stiekema, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Costa Cruises.
