Genoa - GNV’s board of directors approved the company’s results for the first nine months of 2016, which showed an increase in volumes and revenue and a record EBITDA, +23.3% compared to the same period in 2015. “We are particularly pleased with GNV’s results for these first nine months of the year,” the president of the company’s Executive Board, Pierfrancesco Vago, commented. “At the same time, GNV is a company with significant prospects for further growth and its recent results once again confirm our far-sighted investment. As shareholders, it is our firm intention to support the company and its management through the accomplishment of more investment plans.” This commitment, which is not only economic in character, allowed GNV to benefit from its profound knowledge of the sector and the contribution in terms of industrial strategy from its most important stakeholder, which over many years has supported the management in continuing to strengthen the network of routes which serve the Sicilian market, and in carrying out the progressive diversification of its offering in favour of international markets.
This approach has resulted in the complete integration of GNV’s activities with those of other companies that are part of the group, which over time has become a major competitive advantage for the company, consisting of significant synergies in terms of activities and strategy. Using a fleet that consists of 11 modern and comfortable RO/PAX units for passenger and freight transportation, GNV operates five national routes that link the most important peninsular Italian ports to Sicily and Sardinia and has activated nine international routes, consolidating its presence in Morocco, Tunisia, Spain, France and Albania, plus the recent launch of a line that links the ports of Genoa, Civitavecchia, Naples, and Palermo to Malta.
