THIS YEAR, the Italian Cruise Day will be held in Palermo on Friday, October 6th. The event is dedicated to the cruise sector and is organized by Risposte Turismo. Risposte Turismo, with Francesco di Cesare as its President, is a research and consulting company in the tourism macro-industry. This year’s event will be the seventh annual edition, which will be realized in partnership with Autorità di sistema portuale di Palermo-Trapani with the support of CLIA Europe, and will be held at the Grand Hotel Villa Igiea in Palermo, Italy. There will be over 250 delegates coming from all over Italy representing the different sectors of the cruising industry. From cruise companies to port authorities, from tour operators to travel agencies and even shipping agents, trade associations and many more to come. Throughout the day, there will be opportunities to discuss, network and talk about the latest and most important trends in the cruise business.
This will be crucial as, over the past few years, this industry has offered a substantial contribution to the Italian economy and employment opportunities. After the initial greetings from the institutions, the forum will set sail with the presentation of the new Italian Cruise Watch. An annual research report on the cruise industry in Italy which is realized by Risposte Turismo and provides the latest trends on the business for the 2018 season.
The morning will continue with keynote speeches and, like every year, will focus on the state of the art and the future of cruise business in Italy. Decision makers of the cruise companies most active in Italy will be attending, along with some of the main national cruise terminal representatives. The 2017 edition of the Italian Cruise Day will also host press conferences of some cruise terminals who are taking part in La Casa dei Porti Crocieristici Italiani. This platform is dedicated to presenting trends, latest news and future endeavors. After lunch, there will be two concurrent round tables to further discuss, respectively, the initiatives to go back and grow the Italian demand for cruises, and the shipping agents’ point of view on the Italian cruise industry.
