Rome - Moby and Compagnia Italiana di Navigazione met last Monday in Rome, with Fedarlinea and the national secretariats of the trade union organisations Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl and Uiltrasporti in attendance.

The meeting took place after a request from the trade unions about the news regarding the expiration of the lease on the ships “Amsicora” and “Bonaria”, their replacement with Moby units, and the possible effects on labour arrangements. The parties also requested clarification about administrative staff jobs.

The company managers “provided the workers’ representatives with the details that they requested regarding the changes to the configuration of the ships, ruling out any redundancies for seagoing staff and confirming the working arrangements for contracted work. Any changes to the current organisational situation for seagoing and administrative staff will be handled through special meetings.”
