Sydney – A class action lawsuit is set to commence in Sydney over the infamous Covid 19 outbreak aboard the “Ruby Princess” cruise ship. The operators of “Ruby Princess”, Princess Cruises, and Carnival Corporation refuse any responsibility for the outbreak that killed 28 people.

In the incident, 2.600 passengers went on the cruise on March 8th, 2020. There was a Covid outbreak on board which was handled poorly: 660 people ended up testing positive for Covid 19, out of which 28 did not survive.

The plaintiff’s counsel, Barrister Ian Pike, observed that this was not the first Covid 19 outbreak that Princess Cruises had faced. The “Diamond Princess”, another vessel in Princess's fleet had 700 positive test cases and seven deaths in an incident a few weeks before this one.
