Genoa, The President’s Plans
Genoa - President of Port Authority intends to unlock several projects, included Calata Bettolo concession held by the MSC Group.
Genoa - “We have seven or eight projects that will have very important consequences for the development of the port and the city, from east to west.” Paolo Emilio Signorini, President of the Port Authority of Genoa and Savona, listed the projects that he intends to unlock within the year which could affect the port’s development: like the Darsena Levante in the east, the concession of which is to be granted by Christmas to Ente Bacini; like the Calata Bettolo concession held by the MSC Group; like the renewals of the other concessions for port terminals in the Sampierdarena basin; all the way to the land to be used in Cornigliano for the car park and the so-called “empty terminals” for empty containers. And then there is the relocation of the petrochemical tanks out of Multedo. “There are still two areas that we are evaluating with President Toti, Mayor Bucci and Councilman Rixi,” he said. “The ILVA site and the ENEL coal storage facility, two areas that we believe may be suitable. The evaluations are in progress, we hope to finish shortly.”
