Easdale brothers to save Ferguson Shipbuilders
Glasgow - Rangers board members and owners of McGill’s Buses, Easdale Brothers are interested in saving the firm.
Glasgow - According to local media, Easdale brothers, Rangers board members and owners of McGill’s Buses , have shown an interest in buying Ferguson Shipbuilders to save the future of the firm.
The last remaining shipyard on the lower Clyde faces closure and the loss of 80 jobs after bosses called in administrators on Friday. Up to 80 jobs are under threat at the after workers were called into a meeting by bosses.
The revelations about the Greenock-based businessmen emerged as a special task force led by the finance secretary was due to meet for talks in a bid to save the shipyard. John Swinney held a meeting on Monday at the shipyard to discuss its future. Sandy Easdale said: “We have contacted the administrators, KPMG, through our accountants”.
