Hamburg - With 14 deliveries to make in the first eight months of the year, the Turkish Sanmar shipyards are now in the throes of a growth crisis. As a matter of fact, during TMNS, the conference dedicated to Turkish naval engineering which was held at SMM in Hamburg, the company announced the opening next year of a new shipyard for the mass production of tugboats.

The facility will be located in Yalova, also on the Sea of Marmara, and will be five times larger than their current shipyard. Sanmar, one mustn’t forget, was the first Turkish shipyard to build LNG-powered tugboats, which have been one of the most important innovations in the naval engineering sector in the last two years.
