Fincantieri, loss in first quarter

Rome - Fincantieri ended the first quarter of 2015 with €1.11 billion consolidated turnover and an EBITDA equal to €59 million. This equated to a loss of €27 million, mainly due to a slowdown in orders from the offshore sector caused by a market that is still very tight due to the collapse in oil prices. Meanwhile,weak performance in the Vard Group’s Brazilian shipyards also had a depressing effect. The Group’s workload saw some growth reaching the €9 billion mark.
