Fincantieri, renewed flexibility agreement

Trieste - Agreement on Merchant Ships. This agreement of a multi-week timetable has been in force since 14 February, 2014 and was renewed on 30 June. The company hopes that it will become a new model in industrial relations for the country and for workers. The flexible management of working hours has, in fact, made it possible to attract important new orders as well as to manage the massive workload already acquired, including some important prototype contracts. Between 1 January 2014 and 30 June 2015, this agreement has not only helped to avoid layoffs, but it helped to hire 110 people, including 10 high school graduates and 90 university graduates, some with professional experience in the field. The agreement is a modern system which can match business needs with those of workers, while determining the conditions - in a difficult economic environment - to create new jobs and promote the integration of many young people.
