Genoa - Roberto Cepollina, former Genoa Port Authority executive, is the new president of Ente Bacini, the company that manages the dry docks in the port of Genoa’s naval repair area.
The decision was made by Admiral Giovanni Pettorino, current Commissioner of the Ligurian port. At present, dry-dock 2 is managed by the Amico Group, Fincantieri handles dry-dock 3, while dry-dock 4 and 5 are being managed by the consortium Genova Dry Docks, which includes, among others, the two partners of GIN, Mariotti and San Giorgio del Porto.
According to dockside rumours, awaiting the privatization process to run its course, the Authority’s long deliberation is evidence of a lack of urgency to take over from Ente Bacini, evidenced also in other potential candidates for management of the dry-docks.
