Ente Bacini: number of ships increases

Genova - In the first half of 2018, the port of Genoa’s six dry docks hosted 40 ships versus 27 in the first half of 2017; however, the length of their stays has decreased, bringing the percentage usage of the tanks down from 83 to 68%. Ente Bacini company, which monitors activities across the six basins, has recorded an average ‘shortening’ of the time needed to repair ships.

Although the total gross tonnage passing through the Genoa basins increased from 402,622 in the first half of 2017 to 586,142 in the first half of 2018, the total number of days the tanks were used fell from 899 to 752.
