Genoa - Iscotrans S.p.A. celebrated its 40th anniversary in business in Genoa. The freight forwarding company was founded in Genoa in May 1976, and in a few years had established itself as a successful specialist in transporting unusual cargo to major construction sites in developing countries. The company manages its clients’ logistics from the producer to the final destination, in any location in the world, even the most remote and difficult. Its core business consists of project cargo and chemical products. However, Iscotrans also handles containerised goods, break bulk, LCL, temperature controlled perishable goods and aerial cargo of any size and weight. As the company explained in a press release: “We now proudly support our clients at the transportation planning phase, suggesting customised logistics solutions that can generate new opportunities. Shipments have been our passion for 40 years and every year we face the challenges that arise with enthusiasm.”
The anniversary was celebrated at the Palazzo del Principe in the presence of about 140 guests, including the company’s historical suppliers and important personalities in the Italian and Genoese shipping world. During the event, the company’s management thanked everyone who had made Iscotrans’s growth possible since 13 May 1976. The press release continued: “From that point on, Iscotrans has always faced the challenges that the market has presented with the enthusiasm and passion of its founders, adapting to the surrounding environment and thus coming through the storms that, as always, occur in the life of a company, growing year by year. The company management wishes to thank the entire Iscotrans team, present and past, which allowed the company, through commitment and professionalism, to grow year after year, asserting itself as one of the most important freight forwarders in Italy that is able to compete with the multinationals in the sector. Today, with a staff of about 40 employees, together with the third generation of the Benvenuti family - which created Iscotrans - and with the entry of Costa Freight Srl [with the purchase of a stake] in 1996, Iscotrans is a consolidated and distinctly dynamic company in the world of logistics.”
The company’s strong momentum is borne out by the most recent sales results it has achieved, with multi-year contracts signed with some of the largest companies involved in foreign projects, such as Saipem S.p.A., Società italia per Condotte d’Acqua, Bonatti S.p.A. and BASF. Iscotrans has a worldwide presence through its ownership of a network of offices with global coverage. Iscotrans maintains: “Our objective is to provide our clients with a state of the art customised transportation service, based on our clients’ needs and wishes. In our 40 years we have treasured our rich experiences, training our personnel as best we can, optimising the IT part of the company and perfecting our project management - with the entry of IPMA Certified personnel - to better respond to our clients’ new logistical challenges as best we can.”
