Cagliari - A hub for the entire Mediterranean. That is what the Canal Port of Cagliari is preparing to become thanks to the cooperation agreement signed by Indian multinational Electrosteel, a leader in the sector of nodular cast iron pipelines and fittings, and the logistics group Grendi in partnership with the Cagliari-based transports and logistics company CAM.

The agreement was offered to the Grendi Terminal by C.E.O. Antonio Musso, Alfio Firpo (Elettrosteel), Giampaolo Amitrano (CAM), Leandro Ferrari (CICT) and Roberto Isidori, Cagliari’s Port Authority Commissioner.

Electrosteel, with its productive capacity of two million tonnes of steel, 900,000 nodular cast iron pipes with all the casings necessary for any kind of environment or body of water, 20,000 tonnes of fittings, and numerous commissions in Sardinia for over 10,000 tonnes, with Abbanoa and the Consorzi di Bonifica [i.e. bodies that build public works], it intends to strengthen its presence in Europe. And make Cagliari its strategic base.
