Cagliari - It covers an area of 10,000 square metres in total within the port of Cagliari. The covered area measures 1000 square meters and is characterized by lighting provided by large windows. There’s also a belt of greenery around the construction. The new cruise terminal is now ready: the ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m. There will be a big party to celebrate this very important facility for the future of the cruise industry, one that brings tourists to the city.
The management of the facility will be entrusted to Cagliari Cruise Port, with headquarters at the Rinascita pier, the port’s hub for cruise ships, capable of accommodating up to two giants of the sea simultaneously.
And that’s what will take place on 31 July, when the port will host the Carnival Vista, with a capacity of five thousand visitors, as well as Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas. The Carnival Vista, built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, took its maiden voyage in May.
The Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari will hold a conference in its event hall titled “Cruises, sustainable tourism, South Sardinia and Cagliari’s port” to mark the inauguration of the terminal.
