Genoa - On 1 October, the antiterrorism security alert level in Italy’s ports for cruise and passenger ship traffic dropped from 2 to 1, on a scale of 3. The decision was made by the General Command of the Corps of Port Captaincies-Coast Guard. The provision follows the one instituted in August, when more restrictive measures were introduced (early embarking and more inspections at entry and exit points), to ensure the security of the ports. The Commander of the port of Ancona, Admiral Francesco S. Ferrara made the announcement.
